Summer is wrapping up. Fall produce is coming.

August 23, 2016

Here in the Lowcountry, we seem to be blessed with two growing seasons instead of one.  While summer is too hot to produce an abundance of veggies, spring and fall make up for it.  I personally love the spring growing season, but fall brings more of the same.   Right now farmers are starting to plant their fall crops and depending on weather and storms, they should start producing next month.   As always I look to Growfood Carolina and SILO to see what is truly available at any moment.  Also, fishing stays strong with plenty of shrimp and Mark Marhefka of Abundant Seafood keeps bringing in the freshest fish to the Shem Creek docks.
