Back in 2010 I visited Charleston for the first time as a Chef. Chef Floyd Cardoz and I were invited to be part of Charleston Food and Wine Festival. We were part of a group of Union Square Hospitality Group Chefs that cooked an amazing multi course tasting menu using Charleston's bounty in Terri Henning's beautiful kitchen. Chef Sean Brock hosted us to work out of the McCrady's kitchen, where I had my first tastes of the ingredients here. This is the first time I ever tasted a Charleston shrimp, and I could not believe how amazing they were. I knew then I had to come back to Charleston, just didn't know when. I have now lived here for almost two years and I consider myself lucky.
